I know there's a .270 and a .300. Anything else in factory ammo on the horizon? A .338?

Thanks, Rob

There are .270, 7MM and .300 WSM's and a .300 SAUM and I think Rem has a 270 or 7 MM SAUM too.

The WSSM's are next in .223 and .243. After that I don't know.

Recoil Bob,

When I built my Xp-100 in the 338-300 WSM wildcat, I ordered my reamers through Northwest Precision and they asked me if I wanted the this wildcat built on the full length 300 WSM or the prototype version of the 338 WSM which was about 1/10" shorter then the 300, just like the 338 RUM and the 300 RUM.

I asked them why they had a shortened version and they said that it was a prototype design for the factory round that would become the 338 WSM.

I opted for the full length version on my XP-100.

This all took place last summer so I was expecting to see the shortened version of the 338 WSM on the market by now but so far it has not.

I would expect this to be the next round in the WSM line to be introduced. The next would be in my opinion a small caliber of either .257" or 6.5mm. My quess would be on the 6.5mm to compete in the long range target crowd.

Good Shooting!!!
