I have a Ruger M77 tang safety (push feed) and a Ruger M77 MKII (CRF) both in 7mm Remington Magnum. When the receivers are placed side by side they look almost identical. The MKII bolt slides right into the tang safety receiver and locks in tight. When the trigger is pulled it even drops the firing pin. Does anyone know if it is possible to use the safety parts off of the push feed bolt to make the MKII bolt function in the tang safety receiver? Modifications would be fine as this would be permanent. I love the tang safety but also want CRF. The action will be rebarreled so maintaining headspace isn't a problem.

A few years back Ray Atkinson commented that he converted a tang safety Ruger to controlled round feed. I asked him for details but he never replied. Hopefully someone else has experience in this area they can share with us. Craftsman

how would you fit the ejector? If you own a gun and you are not a member of the NRA and other pro 2nd amendment organizations then YOU are part of the problem.

Way back in the dawn of history, when he still lived in Farmington, New Mexico, Butch Searcy used to convert tang safety Rugers to controlled feed. Might still do that and if not, would probably know others that still do.
