I just heard that Jim Hoag, one of the all time great 1911 smiths just passed away.

Jim Hoag was a master pistolsmith. Old school. The old masters, like Jim Hoag and Armand Swenson, could take a box, stock 1911 and turn it into a modern combat masterpiece. RIP.
