Is there a M-70 style 2 or 3 position swing safety available for the CZ 527's?

Cost? Labor to fit and install?

Howard,

Try Ed LaPore Gunsmithing. I know he has 3 position safeties for the CZ 550. Ed is in Bremerton, WA, not too far from you. A good excuse for a trip to the coast and warmer weather, eh? From what I read Ed makes a fine product and is very accommodating on the phone.

Good luck,

Stephen

Ed, nor anyone else of whom I am aware, make M70 safeties for the 527. I do not have a 527 to see how its safety works, but from the pics I have seen it looks just like the ZKW 465, the predecessor to the 527. The safety on that rifle is located on the action. A M70 safety could be made, but it would require milling away part of the reciever and making a new bolt shroud from scratch. I have thought about doing this for my 465, but it is a hell of alot of work. If you had to pay someone to make such a safety for you it would probably cost at least twice what you paid for the rifle. Literally. Would love to hear of a commercial M70 safety for the 465, but it would still require milling the slide. The installation cost would be high even if it did exist.

Making the safety work where the fire position is forward and the safe position is to the rear would be easier, but still very costly if you are paying someone to do it for you.
