I came across this calibre while researching a new chambering for my Ruger M77 bolt action 7.63x39 with a .308 barrel. I have long thought that a 7.62x39 Improved would the excellent for those of us that reload this calibre- but there seems to little interest except for the pistol crowd. I assume that the 7.62x39 Laupa is an improved cartridge, but I am completely in the dark. Can anyone shed light on this topic? Thanks.

I think the 6mm PPC is improved and necked down compared to the 7.62x39mm.
Lapua sells small primer 7.62x39mm brass, but it is like other SKS brass.

The lapua brass has large primer pockets not small. Remington brass has small primers.

Pardon me a senior moment.
I wanted small primer pocket brass for an SKS survivablity experiment, and my choice was Lapua 220 Russian and blow out the necks, or get Remmington brass from Ebay. I got the Remmington, and through time confused Lapua 220 Russian being small primer with Lapua 7.62x39mm being small primer.
