Hey Nebraska, Just traded one off 2 days ago that I had for 3 years. When I first got it, the magazine didn't want to "retain" the cartridge quite long enough under the right lip to allow proper feeding. The lip needed rolling over just a tiny bit more. Removed the magazine, adjusted the lip "slightly" with a rubber mallet and it fed just great. Most folks seem to like the Removeable Magazine as a great "Safety" by carring 4-down and 0-up. Then remove the Magazine when entering or departing the truck, Deer Stand, crossing a fence, etc. In that regard it is indeed excellent. Any Removeable Magazine is more prone to damage though, so it is a good idea to have a spare if you intend to keep the rifle for a long time. ------------------

Hello Nebraska. Yes, I have big problems getting my 308W to feed properly. The cartridges stopps agains the barrel above the chamber. Specially if I use bullets like Norma "ORYX" or with a similar "flat" top. And the last case pops up in the rear end, above the boltface, and jams!! It is a nightmare to use on moosehunt, when it often comes to the need of a fast "follow up -shoot". It seems like it's better when it comes to the longer action, 30-06 is no problem. ------------------ Arild. [This message has been edited by 460wby (edited 03-11-2002).]
