I have a Henry Golden Boy, 22 LR with an octagon barrel and I would like to replace the front sight with a fiber sight

Problem is most front sight pushers only work on ramped sights

Suppose I could drive it out of dove tail with a punch but afraid I'll to mark it up

Any ideas?

After you prep the sight, you can use a hardwood block and hammer to drift the sight without causing any damage. You prep the sight by carefully tapering the leading edge of the sights dovetail so it doesn't try to climb out of the slot when pressure is applied.

Use a brass or nylon flat faced punch to drive the sight out and in. And clamp the barrel in a bench vise, preferebly right below the sight.

Just enough to get it started in the dovetail. If you don't do this, the sight will want to blaze it's own path which occasionally is someplace you would prefer it wouldn't go. And as Ray stated, clamp the barrel solidly in a bench vise as close to the dovetail as possible. Remove and install dovetail sights from the right hand side of the dovetail as you look down the barrel towards the muzzle.

well I got a brass punch but can't get it to budge, don't think a bigger hammer is the right answer, any other ideas?

Use a propane torch to heat it up. That will break down any adhesive that may have been applied, or, will cause the dovetail to expand slightly giving you time to get it moving with a couple of well placed whacks.
