rem. 722 bolt

i have a rem. mod. 722 bolt. has a ring around bolt about 3/4 in. from locking lugs . i can see and feel. it is cooper looking. is the bolt a 2 peice . brazed together? then cromed? thanks in avance...

On the 722, 721, 725, and Mod 700 the head of the bolt with the locking lugs and the bolt handle are brazed on. Usually the joint is imperceptible. The bolt is polished, not chromed.
