well. lets put it this way. you can often find a sears model 50 in 30-06 for $350 and you are getting an fn action with the bottom metal and a stock and a barrrel.

I'd pay $300 for a brand new fn action, but no more.

People will pay a premium for an "in the box" action but in the end they don't save any money. They don't wear out like tires.

Depends upon which Brazilian. If its a 1935 snap it up. If its a 1908 it still a very good action, but it will be soft may sustain lug setback if you use it with a high pressure cartridge.

Century has surplus 1903 Turkish Mausers right now on sale for $45. These have the military thumb cut on the left side of the receiver and military bottom metal.
http://www.centuryarms.com/Century/home.htm

One can get Argentine type mag release bottom metal from Numrich.
http://www.e-gunparts.com/product.asp?chrProductSKU=881550F&MC=

The trouble is, the bottom metal would not fit on the Turk.

The mag box for a VZ24 is:
3.315" inside
3.511" outside

The mag box for an 03 Turk is:
3.215" inside
3.375" outside

The 30-06 and 300 Win Mag cartridges are:
3.340"

So, where you gonna find a VZ24 now?
