I went to a gun auction yesterday and saw a new and unique way of mounting a scope. There was an older Browning A5 shotgun for sale that someone had converted into a slug gun. Bubba mounted a scope on the receiver in a rather unique way. He WELDED the Redfield scope base to the top of the receiver. I'm sure that base never moved. I must give him credit for the fact that he did a good job with the welding. He ran a nice bead down each side of the base. Tom Z NRA Life Member

I prefer a cold chisel for that type of surgery.

I bet it held point of impact REALLY WELL with the barrel recoiling back 3 inches and flopping back forward every time he fired it. I'm guessing, minute of outhouse at 20 yards or so. Now if he had welded the barrel to the receiver and used it as a straight pull, bolt action. He might have been on to something. Just sayin. When I was a kid. I had the stick. I had the rock. And I had the mud puddle. I am as adept with them today, as I was back then. Lets see today's kids say that about their IPods, IPads and XBoxes in 45 years! Rod Henrickson

p dog - I don't know what the selling price was on that gun. Everything I was interested in sold before that gun and I left at that point in time. Tom Z NRA Life Member

Might be soft enough to melt when he shoots it! Ray Atkinson Atkinson Hunting Adventures 10 Ward Lane, Filer, Idaho, 83328 208-731-4120 rayatkinsonhunting@gmail.com
