I just finished a little work on one and it seems like a very fine action. I'm thinking it's FN.....does anyone know who made these....

I will assume they were made from 1924 to 1947!

The earliest variants, the M24 was made by FN, at least some of them were. A small qty was provided by FN, then the Yugoslav's made their own M24's on FN supplied machinery. Many of both were rearsenalled into the 24/47 which makes it hard to identify which receiver you would have.

On the whole, the 24's and 24/47's were much better made than their younger cousins the M48's.

Don't want to start a pissin' match but that is my action and I polished it. I'm pretty sure it said BRNO on the side. I could be wrong as I'm working on another BRNO right now. Confusion is setting in!

The action VAPO pictured above is yours?

It is clearly Yugoslavian.

Yes....it is pegleg's action and I installed the bolt handle and did the jeweling.....the polishing by Pegleg is very good!

My apologies if there was belief that all the work was mine!

FWIW I just got an email from Pacmet and they say the M-24/47 was originally hardened to 31-37 Rc and that's the same as they do.......so that particular action could be used as it.....possibly!
