How hard is it to install a hammer spring in a Remington 870, 1100, or 742?

I do it every time I accidentally launch the existing one. They should not make springs from air soluble steel!

When I was a kid. I had the stick. I had the rock. And I had the mud puddle. I am as adept with them today, as I was back then. Lets see today's kids say that about their IPods, IPads and XBoxes in 45 years!

Thanks for the confidence building. New spring is in. A dimple in the plunger fit a punch perfectly, the wife drifted the pin out and in for me. Good woman.

If you saw my shop you would realize that the odds of anything which is launched, has very little chance of ever finding its way to the floor. I once swept the floor without my GPS and got twisted around and lost. Well, not lost. Fearsome confuzzled for a week or three, but NEVER LOST! I do find lots of parts in chip trays though. I'll be glad when I get more space.

I have noticed that more space means that you have more places to look before giving up and getting a new part. jumping

Astra A-70 guide rods and springs are also air soluble. Don't ask how I know. Frowner
