I was cleaning my M70 bolt last night (375 H&H Safari). After removing the safety and pin (while in mid safe position) I was able to easily move the safety to full forward. This of course caused some bits to move but nothing fell apart. It took a bit of effort but I was able to pull the pin back and reengage the safety.

Is this normal behavior? Seemed odd to me, but everything works ok.

I am just glad nothing shot across the room.

If you are saying the firing pin moved forward when you moved the lever forward, then all was normal. You simply had to compress the firing pin spring, shroud and cocking piece to reengae the lever, correct?
