I have a little project in the "gathering the parts stage" I have a half round half octagon barrel. I would like to put a quarter rib on. I know my gunsmith can make one and he will too once he gets done! Big Grin

However we don't know where to start or what kind of metal to use. I am sure there is someone on here that does this on a regular basis that will be willing to let out a few secrets.

Also I am having trouble finding a good picture of a finished project as well so we can know what they are really supposed to look like when we are done.

My gunsmith loves it when I get these great ideas!!

I know I can send it off to someone else and I may have to, but I want to harass Roy for a little while first.

isn't your quarter rib just going on the half octagon portion of your barrel ?

it should be easy enough to make a piece to fit the flat and then shape it at the front.
look at pics, or better yet rifles !

i have 2 styles of ribs in stock but don't know if they would help you

You would have alot more money if you acted like a doctor! I mean you need to overcharge my insurance then send me to some specialist to do testing. Then he can send you a kickback for referring me. Big Grin

Your shop will go up alot sooner!

I do feel better with your diagnosis though!

You are correct, of course.

Maybe I'll just over charge for the ammunition.......
