Is there any tricks or kits that can be done to a Yugo mauser to make it feed the 243 round better. It appears the point of the bullet contacts the sholder in the chamber before it is levered up into the claw extractor causing the round to jam at an angle just prior to going under the extractor. This seems to be a function of cartridge length and bullet diameter as a 308 with a thicker bullet feeds somewhat better.

That Mauser, being a CRF, should feed from the magazine without a barrel on it. The rounds should come out of the magazine and pop under the extractor without even having a barrel on the action. You need to do something to the action.

Does it feed the round it was originally designed for? Often mausers in short cartridges do not feed well, since they were made for longer rounds. The mag box geometry, mag box length, follower, rails and ramp were all designed around a particular cartridge, and it was not the .243. A gunsmith with experience in these conversions will probably have to use the trial and error method to fix the problem.

Actually the roud is slightly shorter then the original 8mm round. The yugo however is a slightly shorter action then the original large ring action being of intermediate length.
