Ruger Rings, I cannot find one tall Enough. Help!

All,
Ruger M77, MKII in 25-06. Trying to mount IOR 10x56 onto it. I cannot find rings that are tall enough to make this work. I have tried Leupold Super High rings, Redfield extra high, Ruger's extra high. The local gun shop can't find anything that would work either. Do ya'll know of someone who makes a ring taller than these?

If there is not a ring out there that will work should I use a different scope on the gun or have it tapped and switch to a Weaver style system? If I do this, what bases would have the right heights built to account for the offset in height from the front to the rear of the action.

Any info would be great. I appreciate the help.

Cheers,
Jason

Don't know for sure, but I would try Talley's.

Jason,
Have your gunshop consider Burris Signature rings for the Ruger and use the offset inserts with a +.020 in the bottom of the rings and a -.020 in the top. You might have them contact Burris to see how high this would be on your rifle. Might work--might not. Just a thought.

Provided you do find the rings, just where do you plan to rest your cheek in order to look through the scope?

Stonecreek,
I'll rest my cheek on the adjustable cheek piece on the stock. Thanks for the ideas and tips guys. I will look into Talley and see if Ruger has the solution. Thanks again and if there are other solutions let me know. I love to keep my options open.

Cheers,
Jason

I had the same problem a few years ago, putting on a Weaver 8x56...got an uncatalogued set of Ruger XX-High stainless rings through Brownell's. Don't know if they are still available.

Hope you like the scope & rifle combo when you get it done. I didn't like mine. Made my rifle awkwardly top heavy, and strikingly unhandy. So I sold all my 56 m/m scopes and now never put on anything bigger than 44 m/m objective lens for my own use. YMMV

I would agree with the rest that that scope may end up being rather top heavy on your Ruger. One more way to go would be to use the Ruger to Weaver adapter that Burris makes. Then you could go with any extra high rings you wanted. Considering that you will add height by using the Burris base, this may work.

Try conetrol mounts, Seguine , Texas(I believe) thir daptr bases fit the 77 without drilling and I am sure they can extend the height you need. If they cannot supply proper height , I can!
