There is quite a bit to read about this with a simple google search. The officer that fired the shot has 'lawyered up'. Me thinks he's going to take a hit.
The Toronto Police had a search warrant and assuming the Canadian procedure is similar to obtaining a search warramt as in the USA, there has to be some probable cause and particulars listed for the search warrant to be authorized.
Since that information hasn't been released we can only guess. Was a firearm he worked on used in a major crime? Was he somehow linked to a criminal group? I dunno.
