Savage Feeding problem

I put my new barrel on my Savage 11G last night and did some shooting today. That 17 is really neat. [Smile] My biggest group was 1" at 100, and I had several groups that were .5" or smaller. I was getting vapor trails and everyone there was comming over to watch.

The problem is that I had to shoot single shot. The rifle originally was a .223 Rem.. Now when I try to close the bolt with the blind mag full, or even just one round in it the bullet tip gets hung up just at the bottom of the barrel chamber. The front of the cartridge isn't comming up high enough to chamber.

I used 25 gr Berger and Hornady bullets.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Dan

I am using a 17 Rem. I thought that the 17 rem would feed alright since the rifle was bought as a 223 Rem, and it fed fine.
