Capt David, I'm looking at the same thing with some of my rifles. I have a Win model 70 .375 w/ standard iron sights. When I put the non-Weaver style Leupold quick detachable rings and bases on, I can still pull off the scope and see the iron sights. For another rifle, I'd like a peep sight. Brockman makes a pop-up (spring loaded) peep sight in the Talley Quick Release bases. New England Custom Gun makes a peep that will mount to any Weaver-style base, so with this setup you would unscrew and detach the scope rings and screw on the peep. You could call Brownells for the right height of the front sight to make either style of peep work. Williams and Lyman both also make iron sights. Different folks on the forum have indicated that Williams is very helpful on the phone and can help you with the right kind of setup. Steve

Ray, How do you like the Brockman/Talley peep? My worry with it is that the spring will wear out or bind, and it won't have the same elevation. Would this be easy to spot quickly? Like if it started to rain, your scope fogged, and you popped it off? Are both the Talley QD and the Brockman/Tally pop up sights adjustable for windage and elevation? What makes you choose them over the NECG peep? Any info on any of these sights with model 70's, Husqvarna's, or CZ's is welcome. Thanks, Steve
