Can anyone recommend a gunsmith in the Chicago area with good experience working with hunting rifles?

I need help with a Ruger Model 77 Hawkeye that is not reliably firing (I think the pin assembly is dragging on the inside of the bolt and the firing pin channel needs to be reamed).

McGowen in St. Anne IL or Gander Mountain in Kenosha should be able to fix it. You are closer to McGowen I think.

It oughta go back to Ruger. Someone else reported the same problem, also in a .35 (mine is .35 Whelen).

It's also a brand new rifle.

But I prefer to just get it taken care of locally rather than mess around with shipping it back and forth.
