Some weeks ago I discussed with my gunsmith which Mauser rifles could be interessting vor collectors. He told that there are 5 different systems ( I only knewed 3 systems) short, short intermediate, intermediate, standart and magnum. In his opinion the rarest system is 303 British in an short intermediate system mauser made for Rigby. Mauser only produced very small number of this rifles, most were produced by other companies in Mauer order. I think the rarest rifle ist the 505 Gibbs in a Mauser Magnum system. Any other votes?? I always thought the kurz was the rarest of production run Mauser actions. I'm sure there are some prototypes of other kinds out there that would technically be rarer, but were never actually produced. Do you know, did Mauser ever produce an intermediate length action with a high charger hump like the 1909 Peruvian, as a sporter action? I don't think so, but just curious. Todd | |||
