a 7 mag today, the tag said CZ herters. The stock did not impress but the barrel action might be good, Not familiar with these .
It looks alot like a Zastava.
are they similar to the CZ 550 or more like a commercial 98 mauser ?

I have one:



Mine is is a Herters model J9. They are zastava actions just like the old interarms MK X, but usually have a very high grade of fit and finish.

I'm not a big 7mm mag fan, so mine is destined to become a 375 ruger.

The "CZ" marking refers to Zavodi Crvena Zastava, the leading arms maker in the old Yugoslavia, not to be confused with Ceskoslovenska Zbrojovka in the Czech Republic.
