I have problems with the trigger guard on the my super Blackhawk pistol. The back of it is square and every time I shoot the gun it pinches my fingers. Especially if I use 2 hands. Is there an after markets trigger bow I can buy or is there a way to modify the one I have or is there a pistol smith that can change the design of it? Other than that I really enjoy shooting it. Thank you.

I had a block of Maple sitting around that became a modified grip on my SB, it helped a lot. Don't lose to much of the "broken bird neck" shape.

When I got to long range hunting and shooting, moved the free hand to the cylinder area by using a welders glove on the free hand. Don't try this without the glove, and don't hold right at the gap.

These did help me, especially once I put a scope on it.

Long range for me was 100 yds/130 yds. YMMV.

I always thought Ruger was getting a kickback from the bandaid company's because of the Dragoon guard.

The Pachmayr Grip is really hard to beat.

IF you want to change the grip frame on the Super, then there are two things to consider. Is it an OLD or NEW MODEL.

If it is OLD Model then the only Grip frame currently available from Ruger is from the Old Army Pistol that will fit. Either in ALLOY, (Black), or STAINLESS

If it is a NEW Model then you can go either ALLOY, (Black), or STAINLESS, from the Blackhawk.

What I did on my Old Model is put a stainless old army grip frame, hammer screw, trigger screw, bolt screw, base pin cross screw, and a stainless super ejector housing on it. This gave me the round guard, and realy set it off with the blued and stainless parts, then I put a set of Pachmary's on it. There is a slight difference between the super grip frame and the blackhawk grip frame. Just enough as so I can tell the difference, this set up just fits my hand better.
