Does any one know if there are any rings to suit Brno 602/CZ550 integral dove tails and 1" scope which are lower than the Talleys. Are the Warnes lower? Does Lynx make a quick detachable ring/mount to suit?

With the Leupold 2.5X compact ,there is plenty of room for the bolt. If it was a bit close ,I dont mind getting the bolt modified to clear the ocular if I go for a different scope which I might latter on.

cr500,

One thing to watch on the BRNO M602 and ring height is the potential interference between the bolt handle and the scope occular. For some scopes you can't get the mounting lower than a "medium" ring height.

The original model of Warne lever mounts were made in 3 heights. Talley mounts are equivalent to Warne medium height. I have all the measurements some where if you are interested. And the original Warnes are far superior IMO than the hideous looking things they produce now a days!!

This is a Leupold 2.5x8 in early Warne medium rings on a ZKK-601. The eyepiece barely has enough space to clear the bolt handle. I think medium height Warnes are as low as you can go on CZs.

The leupold 2.5x compact has a smaller eyepiece than the 2.5-8x variable ,giving more clearance. My bolt will be getting a different handle so it can be made to clear the scope ,which is why I,m after the lowest possible mount.

The Lynx mounts are only 8.5mm high. Has anyone seen these? Are they QD type?

Ive heard that the newer Warnes are not so good ,made of sintered metal.Has anyone got any older low Warnes they want to sell.? 375HH posted that the Lynx rings are only 8mm high. I wonder what the Lynx rings are like?
Has anyone tried the Lynx rings?

Warne low height lever mounts are .285"
Warne med height lever mounts are .410"

A set of Burgess QD lever mounts are about as sweet as you could get for a full custom job. They are slightly higher than the low Warnes - about .330"

Seems like the Warnes are realy low, I would like to get hold of some of the older steel ones. What are the Burgess rings? Who makes them /sells them? Are there any pictures around of them?

Do a search and you should find some photos on this board. Chic has a set on his Mod 21 Brno. A lot of the rifles ottmar built had them on and of course Burgess uses them on the rifles he builds. Rare as rocking horse shite tho.

Another thing to consider is to get Gabe to mill the Brno dovetails off all together and make up a new set of bases like square bridges which would allow you to use whichever mounts you choose at whatever height you want etc.
