This was a new one on me? Anyone had any experience with this wood?

Never heard of it being used on a rifle before, but for 800 bucks you could get a damn fine piece of walnut, more interesting than this blank for sure.

While I love the Pistachio nut, I don't know anything about the wood for a stock.

nice blank, but you could get a NICE piece of english for that amount

Judging by the recommended calibres, the seller is indicating that this blank would be rated LIGHT, for that sort of money, you could get English rated HEAVY.

Don Cantwell, who sold walnut out of Chico Ca. had some Pistachio on occasion. He said it was good wood but expensive for what you got. I saw one stick he had up at the Spokane gun show a number of years ago. I was not very impressed with it.

Tidbit on Pistachios-
The Pistachio is a relitive of the Poison Ive plant here in the states. If you are very allergic to Poison Ive, avoid Pistachios as they can cause a rash if over consumed. I had a secretary who ate about two pounds of the nuts sitting in traffic. She broke out everywhere including some places I really did not want to know about. Her Doc. found the connection and told her to lay off the Pistachios. She was very allergic to Posin Ive and is the only case I know of personally.
I vould avoid the stock unless you can seal it real well.
