Comissioned a custom rifle in 25-06. Finally was delivered three years late, too heavy for caliber, and wont shoot for sh/crap. After deliberating for over 6 months, I want to change it to a heavier caliber. I have sevral original and custom 9.3x62 rifles and was thinking of converting this rifle to a 9.3x64 Brenneke. The cartridge OAL for the /64 is slightly longer than the /62 version. The action is 1949 FN single C cut, Blackburn 06 bottom metal, Bhular safety, and Blackburn trigger. I have a Kreiger 9.3 barrel that just about fits the barrel channel of the rifle pretty well after threading/chambering/polishing. What to do about the bottom metal.? I commissioned a special run of Blackburn for the /64 but that's never going to happen. Can anyone modify the 06 bottom metal to be used for the 9.3x64 square shooter | ||
