Curions, what is carbona bluing? Lady at smith and wesson says that they no longer do that kind of bluing, and that is the type she says would be on my old model 27-2. Is that the same as Rust bluing?

That's charcoal bluing.

Doug Turnbull does it and does a great job of it.

Thanks. I am wondering if maybe rust blue would be better. It got some rust pits, that is why it needs to be redone, and I want the new finish to be pretty but also rust resistant. Is charcoal bluing hold up well against rust?

thanks again.
