<Joe Brickner>Claw Mounts
So I finely found a 7x57 Brno 21F, and it's in my gun safe now. Problem is it has claw mounts and no "claws". And yes these claw mounts are in big dovetails. The Lil' Brno has a round top and looks like heck with the dove tail mounts pushed out. Now, does any one know someone who makes claws to fit claw mounts. Any other ideas? Thanks for any help.....Joe

ForrestBTry Lee LeBas @ (775)841-3069 or
www.learmes.comLee is an expert in all types of period and modern claw mounts.
Another option might be to ditch the claw system and have a "normal" scope mount system fabricated to fit the dovetail. A good gunsmith could make a plug for the existing dovetail, polish and then stipple the area with a nice border and you would probably not notice the patch. Then you could drill and tap the front receiver for a standard base. A re-blue would finish the job.
Duane Wiebe, in Placerville, could do this entire job nicely. (530) 344-1357 It would be less expensive than piecemealing the job.
Either way is going to cost some real money.

Andre MertensGerman claw mounts of the Shler type are the absolute top in terms of detachable mounts. Return to zero is 100%. Unfortunately they cost a small fortune (a rebluing job is needed in most cases) and require skill to install. I had them installed on my FN-Browning O/U rifle
Considering the bases are already on your rifle, I would advise your having the rings and claws fitted.
