I took a Model 70 in 300 RUM and had it re-chambered and re-barreled to 375 RUM. I have developed handloads using North Fork 300 grain flat point solids and North Fork 300 grain softs. I am having a feeding issue with the flat point solids. The first and third rounds which feed from the right side of the magazine feed just fine. But the second round which feeds from the left side of the magazine will jam when slowly closing the bolt. I live in the Seattle area. Looking for a gunsmith who can make it feed real slick. Any recommendation?

Define "jam". Is it a bolt over ride jam? Is it a straight into the front of the magazine jam? Is it a "the bullet missed the hole" jam? Is it a "locked the bolt up tight in mid stroke" jam? Really, it will help. _______________________________________________________________________________ This is my rifle, there are many like it but this one is mine. Dawgs, A short drive down I-5 will have you at Duane Wiebe's door or a trip to Bremerton will allow you a visit with Ed LaPour. You can't do better than either of these. Both have web sites. Luck, Stephen

Hi Go Dawgs, Give us a call, we can help or at least try and figure out your problem. 375 has always been a great caliber for feeding especially the longer RUM. Call us at (541) 929-4016. Regards, John North Fork Technologieswww.northforkbullets.com

Its a "bullet missed the hole" jam. It misses to the right.

Sounds like it's going to need a little rail work to allow the cartridge to emerge from under the left rail a little sooner for that particular bullet. It should take much to change the direction of feed. How far from the edge of the hole does it miss? _______________________________________________________________________________ This is my rifle, there are many like it but this one is mine. Just for the record...ain't no smith looks forward to fixing someone else's shortcomings which can easily be a fubar. I'm a slow learner, but I've found out that taking in such work is a shortcut to an ulcer.
