I have refinished many wood stocks but never painted a synthetic. This is my first one to own and I have to do something to make it more eye appealing. My idea after searching out threads on the subject was to wipe the stock down with alcohol to clean it. Then prime it with a coat of Krylon fusion that is made to stick to plastic. Then apply a coat or two of Flecstone in Hunter Green with the white flects. Then coat with Krylon clear coat in matte finish. Will the Flecstone stick to the Krylon O.K.? Will any solvents affect the clear coat? I keep all that stuff off my stock but sometimes stuff happens. The stock is very light weight. Should I fill it with that Great Stuff Foam to keep it from sounding so hollow? Any advice or opinions much appreciated. Merg | ||
