MikeMichalskiRe-Bore / Re-Barrel?
Local gunsmith informs me that my .22 K-Hornet Zbrojovka BRNO ZKW 465 has excessive headspace and a badly pitted barrel. He wants to re-barrel. I'm not too sure I want to spend that kind of money for a K-Hornet as I have a CZ full stock in .22 Hornet that shoots superbly. Besides trading it off, what are my options? Re-barrel to another cartridge or re-bore to another cartridge? What other cartridges will work in the BRNO magazine/bolt? Ideas please.

DuggaBoyeDepends:
on how deep the pitting is,
and how bad the chamber is.
I made a dandy 25 Hornet out of one by setting the barrel back ,with a rebore rechamber.
The 270 REN is another thought.
Even the little .327 Federal magnum might be interesting.

Tapper2If you are going to rebarrel, how about .204 Ruger?....Tom

And use a special tighter-neck chambering reamer, to correct the usual oversize Hornet neck dimension. Just enough tighter to 'snug-up' the neck, not enough to cause any special reloading iterations.

MikeMichalskiRe-line, not rebore or rebarrel? Difficult? Expensive? Who does this?

SWDIf you want to keep it a Hornet I might still have a CZ Lux Hornet barrel. I wanted a 17 Mach 4 and rebarreled it. The Hornet barrel shot fine and probably has less than 200 rounds through it, I just wanted somthing different.
