I have a JC higgins FN 30/06. My smith just reblued it for me and I would like to find a decent stock for it without spending a fortue.
This rifle is for the most part a back up rifle and I am not to concerned about making it real prety.
I see acurate innovations is planning a stock for the FN,but its not available yet mcmillen will build one but I have to send them the rifle.
A boyds might be ok but I would like to keep it fairly light.
does one of the bell & Carlson stocks work as a drop in ?
What do you think ?

Try High Tech Spec by Bansner, should fit with a bit of work, will be nice and light. Get it fit and bedded, then send it to CASII for paint and pad, does real nice work.

From what I can tell with mine, any stock that fits a Mark X will work with the FN. I think you could get a cheaper stock for about $75 from Brownells.
