Just got my very first centerfire rifle back after 20 years. a Model 98 BCD code with no serial number on the action? The bolt, shroud, and saftey all have matching numbers, but I can not find a serial number on the action. Eagle with swastika, proof marks etc just BCD and a "4" which I think means 1944. Bunch of numbers on the barrel, proof marks eagle and swastika etc bottom of barrel has CH 93882 which does not match the four digit number on the bolt. Is this normal, and is a BCD action worth the cost of re-barreling etc. Basically stock action and barrel, Bishop stock. Not even drilled and tapped for a scope. It is drilled for a peep site.
