Yes, unless it's some sort of improved version, the shoulder angle is the same as the 30-06. - Dan

Puddle, I caught that one too when I had my 338-06 built... it's a misprint. Brad BTW, H4350 makes most bullet weights sing in the 338-06

Brad, I've been shooting the .339-06 for quite a few years. I am always looking for a better load (gives me ana excuse to shoot more). You've said you like H4350 in yours, can you share some loading info?

Yea, I was thinking H4350 too. That with a 210 gr. Partition. Too much fun. Otta be arrested.

Though the powder may be a bit harder to get, my best (accuracy first, velocity second, brass life third) 338-06 load consists of the 210 gr Partition over 64 gr of VV-N550 in Federal 30-06 brass. This goes 2820 fps in my 22" barrel and groups well under 1" all day. It has taken a nice 6x6 elk and an equally large nilgai like lightening. This is after trying many powders and bullets (200 - 230 gr, Barnes X's, Partition's, Fail Safe's, Hornady's) over a couple of years. The 210 gr Partition is "magic" in this velocity range, IMHO.
