Bought this 722 257 roberts for my nephew,i have been working up a load for him,everything was working ok first 100 rounds or so,then extractor started to give trouble,it's still all there,but sometimes doesn't extract,i had a couple of extractors,but let my buddies talk me out of them(my mistake)Know i can either go with a sako,or try to find a 700 bolt at a decent price.I have been shooting it with a bolt out of a 700 .243,headspaced same,but i'm not giving him my bolt!!So if anyone has a spare 700 bolt or 722 extractor i'm in the market,just need the 700 bolt body/with handle.

You might also consider the Sako extractor conversion.

Jim,i'm leaning toward the sako extractor,i know i can get a bolt from pacific,but that price doesn't included getting the handle welded,etc.I have two 700 complete bolts located for $150 ,but local gunsmith does the sako for a bit over $100.My problem is i already priced the rifle,now i'm going to eat the repair,unless i just decide to keep it.

The price I quoted is a one piece bolt meaning the handle is included.

Welding on a handle should be relatively inexpensive. Although you will need someone that knows how to time the cam extraction

ok,on the pacific bolt the handle is attached?
does it have an extractor,ejector,firing pin assembly,if not will the 700 parts work on his bolt body?

One thing you need to consider when weighing prices between a Sako conversion on the existing bolt vs a replacement bolt, is the additional cost to fit the bolt and correct any headspace issues.

What you need is right HERE . The old Riveted style I believe will fit all 700 series rifle from the 1980's on back

For $25 it's worth a shot.

That is of course if your extractor is riveted.

Its a stripped bolt w/ handle and Rem 700 parts drop in.
