I'm planning to rebarrel a Sako L61R to .416 Rem Mag -- probably a 24-incher in medium-heavy contour. I know that not all of the barrel manufacturers produce this caliber. Which barrel maker would you recommend. BTW, I'm not a fan of stainless and probably want chrome moly.

Steve-

My top two choices would be Krieger and Lilja. I have several of each and haven't had a bad one yet.

That said, I am anxious to try a Brux barrel, they seem to be an offshoot of Krieger.

I think it must be a Blackburn.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. The consensus seems to be that there is no consensus! Confused

Opinions are like "noses", everybody has one!

Almost all the custom barrel manufactures will make a profile to your dimensions, PAC-NOR will do it for a reasonabe price.
