I've heard some very good reviews about his barrels from the owner of Badger Ordnance. I think Rock is one of the barrels used on the current sniper rifles. Didn't he learn the trade from Boots O. or Kreiger????

was looking at them too just recently, seems from what all I gather they are a very fine barrel for your money. went with a Dan Pederson to field try instead.

I am familiar with Mr. Rock, his shop, and his barrels. They are indeed among the very best barrels made.

I, too, can vouch for Rock 5r barrels. I have never met Mike Rock nor can I tell you what kind of person he is, but he does make some good barrels.

I can definetly vouch for his barrels.

I have assembled several 308 rifles using the M24 barrels and they will all shoot half inch groups with Federal Gold Medal at 200 yards.

I used 1 M24 taper to build a 300 Win Mag on a Savage action and the customer shot a .100
inch 3 shot group at 100 yards.
I have also used his M24 taper 338 to build several 300 Ultra Mags and they all shoot sub MOA with factory loads and the worst one shoots around .650 5 shot groups at 100 yards.

Am I happy with his barrels? Heck yea, he makes my job easy and I would definitely reccommend using his barrels.

Mike Rock is a stand-up, No. 1 guy in my book. His barrels are excellent.

He and Jack Krieger are two folks who learned the barrel-making business from Boots Obermeyer. Boots, as you may recall, is the American primarily responsible for the current popularity of what is called 5-R rifling.

The Russians developed a form of it before that, but it was not originated there....a similar rifling style was popular in America back at the turn of the 20th Century and a bit before, IIRC.

Anyway, I have 5 Mike Rock barrels at the moment and they are all truly excellent. Nice thing is, when he was delayed in filling one of my orders, he sent two barrels for the price of one, by way of apology for the lateness.

In my conversations with him, he told me he tries not to ship any .30 barrels he suspects might not be capable of 1/2" or smaller 5-shot groups at 100 yards when properly installed, and that if mine didn't shoot that well, to ship them back. No need to send any back, as it turned out.

Treat Mike right, with respect and friendliness, and I don't think you can find a better barrel-maker to work with. That's my experience anyway....

My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still.

I have two .308 5R Rock Creek barrels on 308's right now. One is on an LTR going overseas with the youngest. The other will be the business end of an AR-10 for me.

You cannot beat him or his barrels. Both items shoot very straight, as Albie Canuck mentions above.

Mike is forgetful (as am I).
When you order, be sure and talk to his assistant.
Mike often has the type of barrel that you are looking for in stock.
