Boss without holes?

I just obtained a model 70 Winchester in .264 Win. Mag. with a Boss attached. I love the accuracy, but not the noise.
Recoil is not an issue. Can one buy a "solid" boss? If so, where?

Judge: They were available from Winchester. They're called CR's if I remember correctly.

Yep CR stands for Conventional Recoil. You still have the barrel tuning capabilities without the brake. I use the brake on the bench and then swap to the CR for the woods.

It is called a CR. I had one in a 300 WinMag. Is yours the Laredo or the smaller barrel? I might be able to help you out. Keith
