Bought a used one and the previous owner must not have liked the safety slide(button) stopping the brass on ejection, so he cut part of it off. When the safetey is on now it leaves a hole in the action and it looks like crap. Any ideas besides shipping the rifle back to the factory?

Ruger shows it as a "factory fit" part. Numrich shows and lists it, but it's "out of stock". Might be return to factory time unless somebody has an extra or spare layin' around.

Tom: perhaps you could weld "onto the safety button" a long thin tab that just covers the hole. Some shotguns are done this way just to cover such a hole. --- John Can.
