Gentlemen, I'm currently attending The Colorado School of Trades and I'm looking for any books on Stock making... Any input would be appreciated. Regards, Matt Garrett Lakewood, Colorado

Gunsmithing by Roy Dunlap does a good job describing the whole process (as well as most other gunsmithing tasks). Steve

I can highly recommend the book "Professional Stockmaking" by David Wesbrook. He doesn't actuall show you how to do one from the blank, but he does show you all you need to know about doing one from a semi inlet, and he has a very good discussion about finishing in it as well. Another good book is Alvin Linden's book entitled "Stockmaking". I own that one as well, and its pretty good. its a reprint. He provided patterns that I don't like (too much drop at the heel in my opinion) but he does go into making one from the block.
