I have one of Brownell's Mannlicher nose caps with the following problem. The upper sides of the cap are slightly outside the steel barrel, leaving an unsightly gap. The gap is small and the bottom of the opening fits the barrel. Can the cap be peened to close the gap? If not what can be done/ Thanks.

Yep, they all need bending and forming to fit every barrel. I turn a dummy barrel to the size needed and hammer away.
