FYI: Remington and affiliates ownership
It seems as though someone had a question awhile back about exactly who Remington was affiliated with. I ran across this site while surfing:

http://www.freedom-group.com/

Apparently Remington and a host of others are owned by the "Freedom Group". Sounds like a holding company and by the description it seems to be based on Remington. It really gives this group broad representation across low to high end firearms of various action types.
