I have 2 long action Rem 700's with blind magazines,a 270 and a 7 Rem Mag. Not that it's a problem or anything but I am looking at the "Kwik-Klip" conversions by Trexler Industries. They seem kinda tinny and some guys say they don't feed well in the belted mag calibers.Standard cases supposedly feed OK. Any experiences on these?

Rembo, I had one of those Kwik Klip magazine conversions on a 700 in 7-mag for about 5 years. I found that it worked OK and didn't have any problems with it.....Ray

rembo -
I've used a Kwik-Klip in a Rem. 700 30-06 for about 15 years. Never had a problem.
One thing's for sure - replacement Kwik Klip clips (?) cost a LOT less than Remington's replacement clips, should you have a factory 700 with clip.

You will be limited to a 3.34" cartridge length, sort of hampers the 3.650" of the standard M700 long action. Other than this fact, works great, I have installed several. They sometimes rattle, but then you are not stalking the Maneater of Tsavo.

HS Precision also has one that works great. Typical HS price also. Can get them from
Brownells too.

I have two of these set ups, one installed on a 30-06 project rifle and the other a spare. In preliminary tests it has functioned okay but I do not have enough field experience with it yet to give an endorsement.

About four months ago I tried to call Trexler Industries to get some more 10-shot magazines. Their phone number was disconnected. I contacted the Pennsylvania Dealer I had obtained these from originally (Shayda's? Shyda's?...not sure of the spelling) and was told Trexler was out of business.

I'm curious if what H-S Precision is selling is the same set up. (Did they buy the design from Trexler?) From photos I've seen it looks very similar.
