Brownells TEFLON/Moly Gun Finish ?
does this stuff work? is it durable? how does it look? would you use it on a carry gun?

I have a '98 in 350 Rem Mag that was tefloned about 10 years ago, and I'm noticing a few chips in the material around the bolt shroud. This rifle has been hunting every year since it was finished (either in my hands or a friends) and I believe that it is a durable finish. Seems to be smoother than my usual matte blue, as well. Hope this helps. - Dan

No and NO,

I used it on a couple of salt marsh shotguns. The finish chipped and rust got under it. Nasty.

Parkerizing works.

I've tried one can of the Brownells product and while the finish was ok, it came out of the can fairly thick.

I much prefer the Norrell product. The specs and contact info is available here: http://www.fireflysoft.com/fsoft/molyresin.asp

Here are two that came out of the oven last weekend:
