I'd appreciate recommendations for a clear coating suitable to protect color case hardening. Thanks. Roger

Some use spray polyurethane, or automotive clear coat, but I don't; it won't fade out in any of our lifetimes if you just oil it.

I've gotten to just oiling or waxing it. I used to have Classic Color do mine, and they would lacquer coat it. The lacquer coat would chip and peel, and looked worse after a while than if you did nothing. So, I stopped clear coating it. I figure if it just ages naturally, that's part of the guns use and history.

In the beginning I was taught to clear coat it with satin polyurethane. Now I prefer to wax it. Sunlight is the worst enemy. It will fade CCH quickly.
