I have a 1964 Model 70 Varminter in .225 Winchester and would like to put an aftermarket stock on it. (The current stock is okay, but it is in 99%+ condition, and I want to take this rifle hunting.) Does anyone make a composite or laminated stock that is a "drop-in" for the varmint weight barrel and the 1964-68 action? Which would you choose if it was YOUR gun? Canuck, I think it might be worth looking at the Accurate Innovation stocks, they seem really interesting, and as soon as they offer one to fit a SAKO action I will be trying one. Check them out at Accurateinnovations.com They arent't your traditional laminated stock, but I think they might offer one to fit your rifle. The other place I would look is at Serengeti Stockworks, a similar type of laminated stock, but without the aluminum bedding chassis. I know Larry would get you a stock fitted to your rifle, but it will take some time and can get a little spendy, but damn their stuff looks nice!

I went with a Hogue overmolded with full bedding block for my Win 70 in .338 Win Mag. Very accurate BTW (Lothar Walther bbl.). André DRSS --------- 3 shots do not make a group, they show a point of aim or impact. 5 shots are a group.
