Guys I have a couple of early newton rifles and one has a non original stock on it.

I would like to have the original stock duplicated from an original.

Can somebody here give me an estimate on what a basic walnut blank and a duplicate would cost?

Thanks

If you just need the stock duplicated contact Al Lind at www.allindgunmaker.com

There are several smiths on this sight that could duplicate for you.

There have been some who have tried unsuccessfully to get in touch with him. I posted earier of his wife having health issues a couple of years ago. That may be the cause of Mike's laying low. Who knows?
He does good work, though.

Hi,

Have not read an answer to your query, so here goes. A black or American walnut blank to match the Newton you have could be had for $150 - 200. Duplication around the same. All guesses are not inclusive of shipping, final inletting, finishing or all the other goodies. I am fortunate to live close to some of the best there are - Al Lind, Duane Wiebe, Roger Kehr, Chic Worthing, Jim Wisner, etc. and am in the process of slowly visiting them all.

Hope this helps though there are those who will wonder on which planet I live. Judicious shopping will get you there.

Stephen
