| Robar There are plenty of methods used to protect a rifle from moisture without resorting to a significant investment. Remove the stock and apply spar varnish to all wood surfaces in the action mortise, barrel channel, under the butt plate/recoil pad and grip cap, and under the sling swivels. A good application of ordinary Johnson's Paste wax on the barrelled action works wonders. After it dries, buff it and recoat with wax again. You can build up a protective coating of wax that does a wonderful job of deterring oxidation. This is a pretty good alternative if you decide against the cost of additional metal treatments. |

| Another vote for NP3 and for Paste Wax! Lots of guns we send off for an Alaska hunt...we just tell customer to paste wax hell out of everything! Wax on, wax off, wax on, wax....you get the meaning |
