Has anyone out there found a good source for a scale appropriate for weighing guns? In searching the web, I've found several companies that offer bench/baby scales that seem to have an acceptable range and accuracy, but they are outside my price budget for weighing the occasional gun. What have others done to determine their gun's weight?

I don't really trust my wife's bathroom scale to give the precision I'd like.

We use a scale similar to the ones used by the post office. It goes up to 10 Kgs or 22 pounds.

Postal scales from Office Depot or similar should do the trick.

check into air conditioning freon charging scales. they may be a little pricey and i dont no how persisse you want i think there to 10th pounds jason

Wellll, if you only occasionally need to weigh a gun AND are too cheap to spend real money for a scale here's a real nifty solution:

1: Box up your gun.

2: Take it to the post office and have them weigh the box.

3: Remove gun from box (leave post office before).

4: Take empty box to the post office and have them weigh it.

5: Do the math!

There, that should end this thread.

Ebay to the rescue.

I took Saeed's suggestion and looked for a postage scale. Turns out that you can get a digital one in the 13# range on ebay for about $40. That was within my budget for something that admittedly will only be used occasionally. 25# scales are in the $50 range, but I figure I don't have any guns that will go over about 12# so the one I bought should cover any need that arises.
