What is your guys opinion on E.R. Shaw Barrels and their overall work? Thinking of a new 375 H&H barrel.

I have one in 338-06.They do as good as a factory barrel and for a hunting rifle I get under 1" groups. So I was satisfied. They are slow took 5 months to return my rifle and don't expect them to answer questions on the phone. There are a lot of people here who don't like them.

Someone recomended them to me as a supplier of low cost barrels. I did some research and talked to a few people that have used them in the past. Basically, they are as good as your typical factory barrel and if installed properly, you can expect 1 MOA groups. But they don't lap, stress relief, or air gage the barrels but on the other hand, the prices are reasonable and they will thread and chamber for very reasonable price too.

I'm not one of them.......

I use Douglas (and there's a lot of folks that look down their noses at them too) and Shilen mostly.

But I used a ER Shaw barrel for a .300 Win Mag and a .223 and was satisfied with both.

Shaw has had their good and bad days with me over the years.

I recently put one of their barrels on my 300 Win, ONLY because I could buy it from Brownells already threaded, chambered, ready to ship, and was 26" long.

The barrel was slow to "break-in", but after about 50 shots, it is now shooting quite well.
